Tomorrow Walt Disney will release two more “Hannah Montana” releases for all the young girls out there. Along with the first season of the show (my review should be up later today), a DVD game featuring 11 games is also being released. As someone who isn’t a ten-year-old girl or the parent of one, I’m probably not the best judge of its quality but I’ll do my best to judge whether its target audience will enjoy it.

Technically this could be considered a video game (it’s even rated by the ESRB video game rating system) but you do play it in a normal DVD player with a regular remote. The amount of players that can play vary by game. Games for 1-4 players are Hannah Montana Trivia Challenge, Pop Star, Dance Off, Band Audition, Seeing Stars Memory Game, and Personality Quiz. Hannah Montana Trivia Challenge is exactly what it sounds like, a trivia game with actual clips from the show. “Pop Star” and “Dance Off” aren’t really games, they are just karaoke and dance instructions respectively. “Band Audition” is basically like “Simon,” where you must mimic the patterns presented on screen. “Seeing Stars Memory Game” also describes itself well since it is your prototypical matching game. “Personality Quiz” is another game that really isn’t a game and as you probably guessed, you answer questions and are matched with a character from “Hannah Montana.”

2-4 player games are “Keep the Beat” and “True Friends?” Keep the Beat is a game involving clapping and giving clues while “True Friends?” scores you on how much you know your best friend. The rest of the games (”Say What?!,” “Art Class,” and “Hellooo Drama!”) are party games that require four or more players divided into teams. In “Say What?!,” one player is given a Hannah Montana-related subject and must describe it to their teammates. “Art Class” is basically Pictionary while “Hellooo Drama!” is Hannah Montana’s version of charades.

Obviously “Hannah Montana DVD Game” is meant for a very specific audience, young girls. I’m not a young girl but I’m pretty sure that group will enjoy this DVD game. Recommended for “Hannah Montana” fans.
