“Lil’ Bush: Resident of the United States” is an animated comedy about the misadventures of America’s least favorite President when he was just a little kid. Of course all of Bush’s cronies and the major Democrat leaders just happened to grow up in the same city as he did. Watch as Lil’ Bush and his friends get into trouble and wage war on the “‘Lil Dems.”
Even though you could mistake this for a children’s program by the cover, “Lil’ Bush” is definitely not for kids. While it isn’t even close to as inappropriate as other Comedy Central shows like “South Park” and “The Sarah Silverman Program,” that doesn’t mean it is safe for the kids. It says “Uncensored” on the cover for a reason.
Just by looking at the cover you probably know what this show uses for comedy. If you guessed “our inept President,” you are correct. Bush isn’t the only target though; Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, and even some of the democrats are poked fun at. While “Lil’ Bush” isn’t in the league of other adult comedies like “Family Guy” and “South Park,” there are some solid laughs in nearly every episode. Obviously if you are a Republican, you probably won’t be laughing and may even be offended. If you aren’t a part of the GOP and you enjoy adult comedies, you should enjoy yourself.
Since “Lil’ Bush” is a new show, there are obviously no problems with the audio or the visuals. The transfer is great with no imperfections. The animation obviously isn’t as good as what you will find on “The Simpsons” or “Family Guy” but it is still solid.
Like most Comedy Central DVDs, there are quite a few extras and all are pretty solid. The “My Lil’ Bush” music video is pretty funny as are the shorts and custom animations. I’m not really a fan of commentaries usually but the ones on this set are pretty good.
If you aren’t a Republican and you like adult animated shows, “Lil’ Bush” is right up your alley. While you can’t expect it to be the next “South Park,” there is a wealth of comedy for fans of the genre. Recommended.
